She was sitting on the chair with
dates in her hand ready to put in her mouth.
"Ammy. When will the Azan
start?? I want to see the Eid moon" she asked eagerly.
"Soon beta" her mother
replied
Though they lived in hut. Yet
they had ample meal to fill everyone stomachs.
After azan she quickly gobbled up
her dates and water and ran outside. As she passed the gates she saw her
friends running outside too. Little bells on their anklet kept knocking
together as they ran out of their huts.
Somehow the slum was beautiful
today.
They ran and reached the mansion. The old man
left it to her friend's father. They got permission to go up the roof and look
at the moon.
Hastily they went to the roof.
"I don't see it" one of
her friends shouted.
"It's not visible right
now" a group shouted from behind.
As they turned around they saw
well-dressed, well-presented kids of their age.
"What are you doing here?"
The slum kids shouted. "You can't be here if your parents see us we will
get in trouble"
"No it's ok. Please let us
see the moon." The kids requested.
In the midst of all this someone
shouted “There is the moon. Eid Mubarak!!!”
And they all started hugging each
other.
A beautiful sight of society
classes merging in union, on this beautiful occasion.
Eid really did bring people
together!
